Tuesday 14th May, We took a trip to Draycote Water to take photos for Task 4, 152MC. These images were also to be entered as part of a competition Severn Trent Water were holding.
I am not 100% satisfied with my images as I struggled to find subjects of interest that would photograph well. I am to submit at least 2 images to the competition and 2-5 images as part of 152MC.
Problems I faced:
The weather. It rained on and off for the 3 hours and It made the subjects quite dull to photograph due to the grey skies. My flash was able to compensate for this slightly but I strongly believe I could have produced more successful images if it was a sunny day. This would have created more enthusiasm aswell. Something else which was a bit frustrating as I was unable to get proof of consent from the fishermen who have featured in my images so I am unable to submit these specific ones for the competition.
Things that went well:
I was able to capture a variety of subjects from different locations around the lake. I was also able to take many photos so I have lots of choice when selecting my final images. I also had the chance to experiment with the speedlight with different subjects.
From the contact sheets, I am able to look at all my images at once to see which are the most successful.
I am going to submit 2 to the competition and a further 2 more for 152MC.
The following images work the best.
